Description: Zakayo and Paul are hard at work splicing terminators onto the fiber optic cable in the administrative office on the hospital side of HEAL Africa. Zak and I traveled 10 hours each way from Uganda (through Rwanda) to bring the terminating kit to Goma so he could do this job, and stayed for only 18 hours. Between transportation costs, visas, and renting the equipment, I probably paid about $400 for the trip.
Location: Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo
