A close-up of the black and white monkey The tallest tree in the Kanungu Forest This tree is a source of local herbal remedies for malaria and a number of other maladies.
You can see where local villagers have scraped bark off of the tree to sell the shavings as herbal remedies. I am always impressed by how much timber villagers can carry on top of their heads. I got attacked by soldier ants during our walk through the forest.
Check out the mandibles on this thing! You should have seen the swarm of ants I was picking off of my legs!
