Arriving in Mbarara with 3 Years of Forms

All of the forms are on the floor for now, with even more in the storage room outside - they will be opened up and sorted onto the empty shelves. The big green things are my suitcases. Lots of research equipment - my 4 eeePCs, several phones, lots of wireless routers. And my own personal stuff for the year. All of this was covered over with a big white tarp for the journey. The claim forms are underneath. My seat for the 4 hour truck ride. At least I was in an air conditioned vehicle instead of on a crowded dusty bus with chickens squawking at my feet. The claim forms kept falling on me and well... I was actually squished between my backpack and my carry-on suitcase, too. :)
These are some of the people in the office that I'll be working with.
Forms forms - this is the poverty grading tool for one of the districts. There's actually a different form for each district, which makes it absolutely necessary for me to design a tool that people here will be able to customize easily without my help.

Description: My project in Uganda is to develop a mobile application to augment a paper based claims administration system and to study how to introduction of this system changes the practice of information management - so lucky for me I was able to hitch a ride to Mbarara with a shipment of the next three years worth of claim forms. Watch them unload my suitcases and the claim forms... whew!
